Magnetic Hematite
Hematite is one of the most grounding of all stones. It reduces
stress, blood pressure and also combats insomnia. It is said to
help increase courage, concentrate energy and strengthen the
heart. Hematite calms and soothes and is very beneficial to
those attracted to it, however, it is one of those stones that
you either love or can't stand.

Why Magnets Promote Healing
Magnetism is one of the most basic powers of nature and
magnetic therapy is nothing new. The Chinese have used them
as a form of natural healing for over 2000 years. Bone
fractures, sprains and bruises, back pains, insomnia,
depression, arthritis, migraines and inflammations are some of
the many ailments that benefit from magnetic healing.

Magnetic therapy works by improving blood circulation and
increasing the level of oxygen that reaches the affected area.
A magnetic field is formed in the blood, which attracts and
repels charged particles, allowing the blood vessels to widen
and the blood flow to increase, therefore bringing in nutrient
rich blood and taking away toxins from the infected area.
This reduces muscle swelling, pain and inflammation and
provides a general sense of well being. It is important to note
that it is not the magnets themselves that heal, rather they
create the optimum environment within the body for a
speedy, natural recovery.

Featured Recipe of the Month

Easy Oatmeal Face Mask
submitted by Kathryn OHalloran
MakeYourOwnCosmetics.com

This is a very simple face mask that will have your
skin feeling super soft.

Yield: A single use

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons whole oats
1 or 2 tablespoons plain yogurt (milk can be substituted)

Blending Procedure:

1. Combine the oats and 1 tablespoon of the yogurt, squishing
the oatmeal flakes up as you stir. The oats will soften and begin
to break apart as you stir. (You can use milk for this mask but
the texture will not be as creamy and easy to work with as it
will if you use yogurt.) The resulting paste should be a creamy
consistency. If it's too thick to spread easily across your skin,
add a bit more of the yogurt and stir. Mix well to create an
even consistency.

2. Spread Easy Oatmeal Face Mask over your face and neck,
avoiding your eyes. Relax (perhaps in a warm bath) for several
minutes.

3. When the mask is dry, rinse gently from skin and pat excess
moisture from face. Follow with toner and moisturizer as usual.
This product should be used within a few days of making and
should be stored in the refrigerator if not used immediately.

Enjoy!
